Supercomputer predicts Premier League matches including Man Utd and Liverpool

A new supercomputer has tipped Arsenal and Manchester United to pick up easy wins this weekend, with Liverpool set to edge past Brentford.

The Gunners host Burnley on Saturday, with Mikel Arteta looking to get his side back on track after last week's controversial defeat to Newcastle. Meanwhile, United are coming off the back of an embarrassing defeat to Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Boss Erik ten Hag will be hoping they can put their struggles in Europe behind them against Luton at Old Trafford. But the Hatters will not be an easy test, after they came close to dealing out the shock of the season against Liverpool last Sunday.

The Reds were able to score an injury-time equaliser thanks to Luis Diaz, but Jurgen Klopp will be praying an easier afternoon awaits his side against the Bees. According to a supercomputer from BetVictor, they are the favourites to do just that.

The analysts use a formula that predicts how many goals each team will score in a match, before running 1,000 game simulations. That method found that Liverpool win 55.9 per cent of the time, with a draw marked at a 23 per cent likelihood and a Brentford win coming in at 21.1 per cent.

It is tipped to be much easier afternoon for Arsenal, with the Gunners winning 76 per cent of the simulations. A draw is predicted at a lowly 15.8 per cent, while Burnley have only an 8.2 per cent chance of winning.

United are also predicted to have a dominant win, with Ten Hag's side 71.4 per cent favourites to beat Luton. A draw is rated at a 17.5 per cent chance, while the visitors have only an 11.1 per cent chance of picking up a famous win at Old Trafford.

Elsewhere, Tottenham have a 56 percent chance of beating Wolves, while Sheffield United have the lowest chance of claiming three points, with the supercomputer giving them just a 7.2 per cent shot away at Brighton. The Seagulls have a massive 79.7 chance of beating the Blades.

Bournemouth are also tipped to have a difficult afternoon, with the Cherries having only a 7.9 per cent chance of winning at home to Newcastle. The Magpies have a 77.4 chance of claiming the three points, to follow up last week's win over Arsenal.

Crystal Palace's clash with Everton looks set to be the closest match of the weekend. The Eagles have a 38.5 per cent chance of winning, with Everton rated at 33.1 per cent and a draw given a 28.4 per cent chance of happening.

West Ham have been handed a 53.2 per cent chance of defeating Nottingham Forest, with an away win rated at a similar 23 per cent chance to a draw. Aston Villa are also in line for three points, with Unai Emery's side given a 58.9 per cent chance of beating Fulham.

The final match of the weekend comes at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea host Manchester City. Mauricio Pochettino's men are not predicted to build on their win at Spurs though, with the Blues having just a 13.2 per cent chance of beating the league leaders.
