Tesco shoppers have been warned there is not long left before their Saving Stamps scheme comes to an end this year.

Saving Stamps allow shoppers to buy stamps throughout the year in Tesco stores. If they redeem £49 worth of stamps during December, they get a free £1 bonus stamp on top. Shoppers can then use this £50 to put towards their Christmas shop that month.

The supermarket chain shared the news earlier this year and signposts were put up across stores informing customers of the change. Tesco said the final day customers could buy stamps was October 16. If you are using the scheme, you are not able to top up your stamps going forward.

Anyone with saver stamps doesn't have long left to spend them either. The deadline for spending your stamps is December 31 after this date your saver stamps will become invalid. If you want to hold onto your savings a little longer, you can exchange them for Tesco gift cards in-store.

Tesco does offer another way to help shoppers at Christmas, the supermarket has its Clubcard Christmas Saver scheme. The scheme has a very similar premise to the Saver Stamps as it allows you to save and top up your Clubcard points throughout the year - with the potential to get up to £12 extra. With each top up, you can earn a bonus in the form of a voucher which you can spend at Christmas.

The more you save under the Christmas Saver Scheme the bigger the bonus you will get- the bonuses are up to 6% and are given out as follows:

If you haven't signed up for this year, sadly you won't be able to as you need to have opted into the scheme before October 18. Those who did sign up will be getting their Christmas vouchers sent to them this month. The bonus vouchers are only valid for two months and do expire if they are not used. The larger top-up vouchers, so the money you have added to your account, are valid for two years, so there’s no rush to spend them at Christmas.

You can then spend them in Tesco online, in-store or on petrol but you can’t boost them with Clubcard partners.
