Liverpool have a chance to put their dropped points at Luton behind them when they travel to Toulouse in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Reds are top of their group with maximum points, and three more in France could allow them to rest players for the final two fixtures before the knockout stages. With Manchester City among the upcoming league opponents for Jurgen Klopp's side, that would be a welcome development.

Grealish lays down gauntlet

Manchester City star Jack Grealish has fired a warning to Liverpool and the other clubs looking to dent the Premier League title holders this season. The England international has had a mixed seasons, but as speaking after impressing in City's 3-0 Champions League win against Young Boys.

"I know what I bring to the team aside from goals and assists," Grealish said. "Every attacking player wants to score more. We won 3-0, but on another day we could have got five or six."

City have already booked their place in the Champions League knockout stages, giving them greater focus for upcoming games against Chelsea and Liverpool. "Every year we have so many games as a team," he added. "Most of the time we’re in most competitions, so to qualify with two games to spare, that’s what we wanted to do, that was our aim."

Fluminense's president has admitted he expects star man Andre to leave the Brazilian side. Liverpool were linked with the 22-year-old over the summer, but instead made a late move for Ryan Gravenberch.

“We are waiting. Today, there is no concrete proposal for Andre,” president Mario Bittencourt told Globo. “But we are sure that after the Club World Cup - he will play in the World Cup - a stratospheric proposal will arrive.

“It could be the biggest sale in the club's history. We could possibly lose both (Andre and defender Nino), but we are working to replace them.”

Stones a doubt for Reds clash

Manchester City are set to be without John Stones for some time after the defender only managed 45 minutes against Young Boys on Tuesday night. While an exact return date has not been speculated on, he is expected to miss the meeting with Liverpool on November 25.

"Unfortunately, John is out again," Guardiola said. "I feel so sorry for him because he has shown such commitment and he is a big loss for us. John is so important for what he does.

"But yeah, recover, the season is long and he will be back stronger." Guardiola was also asked if he expected Stones to be missing for a while, replying: "Yeah, I think so".
