Choosing the dress or outfit for your own wedding has to be one of the most fun and important parts of the organisation process. Deciding on the colour and shape - contemplating on whether to go short or long, perhaps, even going against the norm and wearing a jumpsuit, it’s all fabulously exciting and personal.

Lots of people choose to take their relatives or friends with them to try on wedding dresses, for support and feedback on whether it suits them or not. However, one woman got more than she bargained for when she decided to share her choice on social media - and it didn’t go exactly as planned.

The bride-to-be shared stunning photos of her chosen dark, midnight blue gown, with a boned bodice, corseted back, and which featured intricate gold embroidery of celestial details.

In addition to the unique dress, she also showed off a set of coordinating rings that slotted into each other and revealed she had got the lot for £244 ($300). After seeing the incredible deal she had got, people on Reddit couldn’t resist pouring cold water on her shopping haul.

One person wrote: “Have you received the dress yet? I'm not trying to rain on your parade at all, but I think these images are stolen. You can tell by the watermark and the quality of the photos underneath it. That doesn't mean the dress won't be beautiful! But there is a distinct possibility of a "what I ordered versus what I received" situation, so be cautious.”

Another person added: “This price point for a dress design that requires a lot of hand-sewed appliqués, embroidery, and beadwork is also giving me pause. be careful - if you check out the review on the shop that has a photo uploaded it's a different dress to the one pictured and looks to be made from different materials, which makes it look more of a costume dress or potentially a prom dress (zoom in on corset).”

While someone else wrote: “When it's too good to be true, it usually is. But we all want to be wrong. I love the concept of the ring.”
