Robbie Williams shares unseen photos from early romance with wife Ayda
Robbie Williams has shared unseen photos from the early days of his romance with wife Ayda Field.
The pair met in 2006 when the American actress featured in a UFO documentary Robbie produced for BBC Radio 4. And the Rock DJ singer famously stood her up on their first date before they eventually got together.
Now stronger than ever, Robbie, 49, and Ayda, 44, married in 2010 and share four children, Theodora, 11, Charlton, nine, Coco, five, and three-year-old Beau. But things were not quite as rosy when they met, as Robbie was still going through rehab for his addictions to class A and prescription drugs.
Things were so bad, the couple split three times before rekindling their romance in 2007. In his self-titled Netflix documentary, Robbie shared never-before-seen snaps of a holiday to Morocco the pair jetted off on as he tried to step away from the spotlight and get well again.
In the candid pictures, Robbie and a bikini-clad Ayda are pictured looking happy on a yacht before checking out some local historic landmarks. Later they lark around in the desert as Robbie wears what appears to be a blue striped kaftan, while Ayda stuns in a yellow mini dress and cowboy hat.

Robbie Williams has shared pictures from his early romance with now wife Ayda Field (Netflix)In the four-part limited series, Robbie admits he had relapsed into drug addiction when he met Ayda and recalled one scary night where she had to nurse him after he suffered a bad reaction after snorting a line of cocaine.
He said: “She came over to my house after being at a party and I’d just seen off my dealer that I was sleeping with at the time.” Ayda describes it as being “completely dark, no candles, no lights”.
Although Robbie was in the grips of a drug addiction at the time, which he has since spoken openly about, Ayda said she still knew he was her ‘soulmate’. She said: “He was saying funny s*** in the car and I thought, ‘Oh, he’s funny.’ There was just this moment we were laughing and it was like the universe opened up.”

Describing her heartbreak at the time, Ayda said: “He is like, ‘I can’t be in a relationship and I have to get better. I have to break up with you.’
“I understood it because I saw he was unwell and I remember thinking I just want you to get better, whatever you need to do , and I was just so crestfallen. He was my soulmate and then he was gone.”
After getting clean, the pair enjoyed a holiday to Morocco and Robbie said of the life-changing trip: “There was a cementing of a relationship between me and my future wife, but if you’d asked me what I was doing during that, I wouldn’t know. There became enough space between me and my career for me to fall in love.”

”By dark things you mean finishing with you three times,” Robbie replied. Ayda admitted the worst part of Robbie's actions was that he didn't even bother to tell her she was being dumped.
She said: ”It wasn't just finishing with me three times, it was more that when you finished with me you didn't tell me you were finishing with me, you just disappeared and then delivered my stuff in garbage bags.”
”I Houdini-ed you,” Robbie quipped. Ayda added: ”You Houdini-ed and then garbage bags came my way like three weeks later. And my car on a flatbed truck with a bill to pay the flatbed truck.”

But everything changed for Robbie when he was given some wise words from Cameron Diaz at a showbiz party. He explained: ”I bumped into Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. I started talking about this person I'd just ended a relationship with and was listing all these things about her brilliance when Cameron said 'I don't think it's over.' At that moment the universe spoke to me. I left and went straight to Ayda's house and committed to her.”
