Finding the time to read can be difficult but one way readers are meeting their Goodreads Reading Challenge is by listening to their latest reads. While there's some debate on if it counts as reading, here at the Mirror we don't think it matters if you listen, hold a paperback or read it off a screen as long as you're taking in the story.
Audible is a popular platform for listening along to the latest books and typically costs £7.99 a month but for a limited time only you can get 60% off the membership for three months. This means you'd only pay £2.99 a month until February of next year.
There is also the option of a 30 day free trial but the price will rise to £7.99 a month afterwards. With the membership you get one credit a month that you can use on any audiobook on the site and it includes brand new books like Rebecca Yarros's highly anticipated Iron Flame which released earlier today and has a standard audiobook price of £33.68.

You also get unlimited listening with the Plus Catalogue which has thousands of Audible Originals, podcasts and audiobooks. All of these can be downloaded to your phone or compatible device so you can listen uninterrupted regardless of if you're in an area with signal or data.

You can adjust the playback rate of your book to a faster or slower speed to suit your reading needs and it's a great way to understand how you actually pronounce your favourite character's name. When listening to memoirs you hear right from the celebrity which is a really nice touch.
The Mirror's Jada Jones is a big fan of the service. She said: "I've been using Audible on and off for years, it's a really useful way to listen to books that would otherwise be a little daunting. I really struggle picking up anything over 700 pages but when it's measured in hours and I can listen along in the shower, while doing the dishes or while getting groceries it makes it feel way more accessible.
"Books with multiple perspectives or fantasy novels with hard to pronounce names are a delight to listen to as well - especially highly anticipated releases since there's no waiting to start listening once they're released. I've bought Iron Flame with my monthly credit as Fourth Wing was such a great listen.
"I think audiobooks are a great option for people who struggle to sit down with a book but have an interest in them. I know many people who haven't enjoyed reading physical books have found a lot of success with audiobooks."
There are other ways to listen to audiobooks alt, a popular one at the minute is Spotify Premium which offers 15 hours of audiobook listening time each month. This isn't as much as Audible but the subscription does include music and the chance to download your listens - it's worth noting many books are longer than 15 hours in listen time.
