Coronation Street spoiler sees new discovery amid 'double soap exit'

Coronation Street's Asha Alahan is set to make a huge discovery next week, which could leave her relationship with Nina Lucas in tatters.

In upcoming scenes, Asha and Nina, who has been growing jealous of her girlfriend's new work mate Isla, enjoy drinks at the Chariot Square. However, Asha is soon horrified to see Courtney and Darren Vance together as she still thinks Courtney is dating her brother, Aadi Alahan.

Soap watchers will recall that Aadi and Courtney embarked on an affair earlier this year but it was soon rumbled in dramatic scenes with Courtney's husband, Darren, filing for divorce. Meanwhile, Aadi's father, Dev Alahan, was left disappointed with his son, especially as the affair could have ruined a huge business deal for the family. Last week, Aadi was delivered a devastating bombshell as Darren revealed Courtney wanted to get back with him and the heartbroken youngster begged Nina, who was present when Darren dropped the news, not to tell anyone.

In the scenes next week, a stunned Asha leaps to her feet, accusing Courtney of cheating on her brother Aadi. However, things soon take an awkward turn when Nina explains that Aadi and Courtney split two weeks ago, leaving Asha outraged that she kept it from her. It comes as it was reported that Stephanie Davis has left the ITV soap as Courtney just months after her debut.

A source told The Sun: "Naturally she’d hoped that maneater Courtney could stick around for a good few years but bosses feel like the story arc is complete - she’s not being killed off, though, so there’s no reason why Courtney couldn’t one day return and the door remains open to Steph."

Meanwhile, Coronation Street boss, Iain MacLeod, recently teased Courtney's future on the cobbles. Speaking to press, including the Mirror, about winter storylines, he said: "I should say, I love Steph [Davis, who plays Courtney]. And I love Courtney! I think she's just been a big, colourful glitter bomb that's gone off in the middle of that storyline. But the long-term direction for Aadi is Amy Barlow. So what Courtney's role, if any, might be going forward, I don't know definitively, but I don't see her and Aadi as being the forever couple." Could next week be Courtney and Darren's final scenes?

Elsewhere, later in the week, Asha arranges for her, Nina and Aadi to meet Isla for lunch but Nina's thrown when Asha arrives dressed to the nines. Asha and Isla chat about work whilst Aadi listens, bored senseless and Nina feels sidelined. Later, Asha smiles to herself when she gets a text from Isla...
