A bridesmaid had to rush to the dentist with just minutes to spare after she chipped her tooth on the morning of the wedding.

Millie Knight, 29, was getting ready for her friend Paris' big day when disaster struck while she was brushing her teeth. With her make-up complete, before having her hair styled, her tooth snapped in half and disappeared down the sink.

In the past, Millie suffered from teeth problems since losing a tooth during a hockey incident when she was 13. With the rest of the bridesmaids struggling to contain their laughter, Millie panicked that her smile would "ruin" the 29-year-old bride's photos and begged the nearest dentist to see her. Still in her pyjamas, she rushed to the dentist where she was whisked into the chair and fixed up within 10 minutes, and left with £165 bill.

Luckily, with her smile back, Millie returned to have her hair done and made it to the church in the nick of time. Millie, a social media manager from Burton-On-Trent, Staffordshire, said: "These same girls have seen me go through all these teeth dramas since I was 13. I didn't understand - it's been fine for years and years. I spat it out and it went down the plug straight away.

"Luckily the bride found it hilarious - typical me she thought. I did wonder how I was going to get through the day smiling for the cameras though!" Before she was escorted to the dentist, Millie posed for a couple of funny snaps for the bride to look back on.

She said: "Whilst the bridesmaids were all crying with laughter, the photographer did a fun little photoshoot with me for the bride's memories which was really funny. Once that was done my mum rushed me to the dentist whilst I was still in my satin bridesmaid robe. I think the dentist was a bit shocked as well!

"Because of my previous history he told me that if he'd known it was a crown he wouldn't have touched it. A composite bond doesn't stick on that material so it was stuck on my tooth next to it. It lasted for a little while before coming off again a few weeks later."

Thankfully, for Millie, who now lives in Australia, and the bride and groom the rest of the evening went smoothly. She added: "It was incredible and such an amazing wedding. I was more nervous about the fact I'd come all the way from Australia and didn't want to ruin her photos by looking like that."
