Matthew Perry's emotional parents were seen at the star's funeral yesterday, just one week after the Friends actor's death.

One week ago today, Matthew, 54, who was famed for portraying Chandler Bing in the hit US sitcom Friends, was found dead in his Los Angeles home. The beloved actor was found after he reportedly drowned in his hot tub.

On Friday afternoon, the Friends star's family and friends have gathered at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles. The cemetery, which is opposite Warner Bros Studios, is where the show Friends was filmed for ten years.

The funeral held for the Friends star was attended by his loved ones. His father John Bennett Perry, his stepfather, Keith Morrison, and his mother Suzanne were among the guests at the emotional farewell. Matthew's mother could be seen wearing a floral dress that grazed her ankles. She accessorised with a short black jacket, black boots and her blonde hair down and framing her face. Speaking to the Daily Mail, a source revealed: "There was not a dry eye in there. There were a lot of tears and laughter. Only close friends and family spoke."

The gathering comes after Matthew's former co-stars came together to share an emotional tribute following his death. "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," they said in a statement.

In the tribute, which was shared with People, they continued: "There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able,” they continued. “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world."

In a statement, Matthew's family also wrote: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother. Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend. You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."

Matthew's family and friends have also come together to set up a foundation to honour the late star and the work he did helping those with addiction issues. In a statement, the organisation said: “The Matthew Perry Foundation is the realisation of Matthew’s enduring commitment to helping others struggling with the disease of addiction.

"It will honour his legacy and be guided by his own words and experiences and driven by his passion for making a difference in as many lives as possible." The Matthew Perry Foundation also referenced a quote by the actor on the website.

It read: "When I die, I don’t want Friends to be the first thing that’s mentioned – I want helping others to be the first thing that’s mentioned and I’m going to live the rest of my life proving that. Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down."

Matthew's mother and stepfather were seen near their home earlier this week. The couple were photographed while walking their family's dog, with Suzanne then snapped after she met up with some of their children to go on a hike. At the end of their walk, Suzanne and her kids all stopped off at a local cafe for refreshments before heading home.
