Riddles are designed to challenge your brain, and despite us all knowing how baffling they can be, somehow they still manage to throw us off-guard, often leading us to the totally wrong answer. Once you've realised what the correct answer is, you'll be kicking yourself and feeling seriously silly.
They're so fun to try and answer with family and friends, and it can get a little competitive if some of you have conflicting answers. Daily Quiz and Riddles have taken to Twitter to post a riddle that has stumped people and left them questioning themselves and their riddle-answering abilities. They wrote: "Let's have some fun! Type the first answer that comes into your head. No cheating!"
The riddle asks people to: "First, think of the colour of the clouds. Next, think of the colour of snow. Now, think of the colour of a bright full moon. Now answer quickly - what do cows drink?"
The likelihood is that you answered 'milk', and then realised very quickly that your answer was incorrect - right? One person wrote: "Anyone who's honest here first thought of milk." Another said: "Milk. Is this some kind of psychological trick? After thinking about all those white-coloured things, the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of what cows drink is milk."
Someone else took the incorrect answers to another level when they commented that cows drink "White", with many others writing that it was obviously "Milk." According to the A-Z of Animals, "Their only beverage is water." So, those who answered water are actually correct. They also shared that "Cows require a significant amount of water, with adults drinking up to 50 gallons per day."
'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'
If you enjoyed this riddle, you may want to try your hand at these tricky (but fun!) optical illusions. If you can spot the baseball bat in the busy café brainteaser, it means that you have seriously sharp eyes. And only those who are seriously intelligent can spot the six hidden words in the garden image.
Did you know that there are different types of optical illusions? Literal, physiological, and cognitive. According to Clear Eyes, literal optical illusions are "when the image you see is different from the images that make it up" - multiple images can exist in one photo. Physiological illusions are "more complex" as they rely on "overstimulation of the brain's senses" and are designed to confuse the brain and the "image in question does not exist in nature." Cognitive optical illusions "rely on what the subconscious mind thinks and how it relates one object to another."
