Fortnite playercount results in long queues and error codes

Fortnite OG's launch is proving to be unexpectedly rocky as players are reporting issues with the game on Twitter.

Fortnite OG has the fanbase especially hyped as the game has headed back to 2018's Chapter 1 Season 5 with today's update. Unfortunately, a large portion of the playerbase is facing some issues in actually getting into the game, with Epic Games acknowledging the ongoing issues on Twitter.

Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR has noted on Twitter that Fortnite OG's launch has resulted in the all-time player peak for the game, with over 3million players playing the game as of an hour ago. This increased playercount is the likely culprit for the error codes plaguing the game at the moment.

We're going to split each of the ongoing errors into sections below, and give you some tips to hopefully remedy them.

Queue and Party errors

Players are reporting long queues to get into the game in the first place, with those who are getting through being unable to join parties, which the game's official account has acknowledged. Players have been reporting error code 0 (related to queues), as well as error code 86 and error code 91 showing up when attempting to play the game. The last two denote party issues, similar to to Fortnite error code 93, making you unable to join friends parties.

The best way to sort these issues out is the classic turn it off and back on again technique. Closing the game down and joining back up should solve these issues most of the time (although, as far as queues go, this is only applicable if your queue is stuck, it won't let you skip queues entirely).

Fortnite Crew battle pass bug

Not only that, but Fortnite Crew subscribers aren't being given the Fortnite OG Battle Pass, despite it's inclusion in the subscription. Epic has said it's aware of this on Twitter as well. Truth be told there isn't a fix for this until Epic Games manages to remedy itself (keep an eye on the @FortniteStatus Twitter account for updates on this). However, normally if you buy the Battle Pass with V-Bucks and then get a Fortnite Crew subscription the V-Bucks price of the Battle Pass will be refunded to you, so if you really can't wait, it's worth just doing it that way – provided you have the V-Bucks to spare.
