Meghan Markle is said to be on the brink of securing a new podcast deal after her Spotify deal fell apart.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a podcast called Archetypes which Meghan hosted. The award-winning series ran for 12 episodes last year and featured personal interviews with artists, athletes, and experts discussing the history of stereotypes against women.

Prince Harry and Meghan signed the lucrative deal to host and produce podcasts in late 2020. This year the news of the £18million deal's end was confirmed in a joint statement from Archewell and Spotify that read: “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”

A top Spotify executive also controversially called Harry and Meghan "f***ing grifters" after their podcast was axed. Royal commentator Christie Ross noted that it was Meghan's "creative differences" that saw the downfall of Archetypes.

She said: "A lot of people said that the podcasting wasn't great, there were just lots of creative differences so perhaps podcasting is not necessarily the way forward." But now, the Duchess is preparing to secure a new deal with Spotify's rival Audible, which could be "make or break" for Meghan's Hollywood dream.

Royal commentator Christina Garibaldi told US Weekly: "Since parting ways with Spotify, she's said to be inching closer towards signing on the dotted line for a multi-million dollar contract with Amazon's podcast production partner, Audible. The new venture has the power to make or break her Hollywood dream.

"Word of mouth is spreading that it will lead to a huge payout even bigger than the millions Spotify splashed out and she's thrilled to be in the company of Michelle and Barack Obama who signed a deal with them back in 2022," she added. "I'm still hesitant about this and whether or not Audible would want to sign something like this considering how terrible the deal with Spotify went, maybe podcasting isn't in her future."
