Man charged with murder of 'loved' mum found dead after walking home from pub
A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found dead at a tower block in Wigan.
Caroline Gore was discovered at Douglas House near to the town centre at around 8pm on Monday night. Tragically, the 44-year-old was pronounced dead by medics at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police said on Thursday evening that David Liptrot, 56, has since been charged with Caroline's murder. Liptot, of Coppull, Lancashire, was remanded into custody and is due to appear before magistrates court on Friday.
Detective Inspector Alex Wilkinson of GMP Major Incident Team said: "Our thoughts remain with Caroline’s family who continue to be supported by specially trained officers and are aware of the progress being made in this investigation. As a result of our enquiries, a man has been charged with murder however I would like to continue to appeal that anyone with information about Caroline’s death make contact with police.

Meanwhile, a statement released by Caroline's family earlier this week said: “We as a family are heartbroken and saddened at the loss of Caroline Gore.

"At this time we as a family ask for privacy and show respect for Caroline and her memory. We ask that members of the public allow the police to conduct the investigation into the passing of Caroline and that any information is passed to them.”
