Emmerdale villager left reeling over baby news with 'lives turned upside down'
Emmerdale aired more shocking secrets on Wednesday night as the explosive Dingle whodunnit continued.
During the latest episode, Lydia Dingle continued to interrogate her family after her rapist Craig Reed was found dead in a field. This week, in special episodes of betrayal and secrets, the Dingle family take centre stage at a lock-in at the Woolpack as Lydia, who was raped by Craig, questions her family's whereabouts on the night of Craig's death.
On Wednesday night, it was Marlon Dingle's turn as he told his family his whereabouts during the time of Craig's death. However, while his story started happily as the Dingles learnt that he had been discharged from the hospital following his stroke last year, it soon took a dramatic twist. In a flashback, it was revealed that Marlon bumped into wife Rhona Goskirk's ex Gus Malcolm in the hospital, where his partner Lucy was heavily pregnant.
Emmerdale aired more shocking secrets on Wednesday night as the explosive Dingle whodunnit continued (ITV)Viewers will recall that Gus showed up in the village earlier this year, asking ex-Rhona for her help. He revealed to her that he was in a new relationship and wanted to have kids with his new partner but they weren't able to. He said he had kept the embryos they had frozen while together and wanted to use them but needed her permission, as she was the other parent of the embryo. Rhona was left floored as she believed the embryos had been destroyed and after meeting Lucy, contemplated letting them use the embryos before changing her mind.
On Wednesday's episode, Marlon was floored to see Lucy heavily pregnant and instantly became suspicious as the duo pretended they had conceived "naturally". Marlon then threatened to ring Rhona to which the couple came clean, admitting they had used the embryos without Rhona's consent. Things took an even more dramatic turn when Gus confessed he even stole Rhona's passport to forge documents and fake her consent. Marlon was left floored by the discovery.

Back in the Woolpack, a sheepish Marlon didn't tell his family any of the information about Gus in his flashback and he struggled to tell Rhona the truth. It comes as Emmerdale boss, Laura Shaw, recently told The Mirror and other press that there were some life-changing scenes on the way, with a baby twist that will see lives "turned upside down".
Marlon bumped into wife Rhona Goskirk's ex Gus Malcolm in the hospital, where his partner Lucy was heavily pregnant (ITV)While details on which characters are involved in which plot remain under wraps for now, Laura spilled on the scenes ahead: "We all love a soap baby! We know that Dawn and Billy are pregnant and excitedly waiting for their baby, which is conveniently due around Christmas, as soap babies always are!
"It’s always either Christmas or Super Soap Week. But we do have another baby that is joining us. This one won’t quite be the happy news of Billy and Dawn though, and it’s going to be a huge shock for one of our couples in Emmerdale. It’s going to literally turn their lives upside down and result in a big fracture in what was once a very solid marriage. I’ll leave you to guess who that might be." Could Gus and Lucy be the baby twist?
