You can cut your energy bills this winter with our top-rated heated throw
Martin Lewis' Money Saving Expert Team have been prompting us to 'heat humans, not the home' this winter in order to keep costs as low as possible. One initiative that they are championing is using an electric blanket, rather than putting the heating on, as many heated throws cost just pennies to run and will still keep you toasty warm.
As we enter into the colder months of the year, it's more important than ever to stock up on any money-saving products such as air fryers and heated drying racks, and with many retailers, including Currys, Amazon, and Ninja, launching their Black Friday deals early, now is an excellent time to keep your eye out for deals.
One sale that you won't want to miss out on is home and cooking brand Lakeland - they are offering up to £40 off their award-winning Dry:Soon Heated Airier, as well as 25% off Lakeland air fryers and up to 33% off heated throws.
There are lots of discounted heated throws to choose from on the site - the Snuggler Heated Throw with Sleeves and Foot Pouch is £69.99, down from £99.99, and their Knitted Heated Throw is also £30 off, now costing £89.99.
But, the heated throw deal that really stood out to us was Lakeland's Sherpa Electric Heated Throw with a saving of £20, as it's a tried and tested favourite for The Mirror's shopping writer Narin Flanders.
Shop prices 'are yet to peak and will remain high' as inflation hits new heights
The fleecy sherpa lining will keep you cosy and you won't be able to feel any wires (Lakeland)Reporting to My London, Narin explained that after battling with the cold and the rising cost of gas and electricity, she put Lakeland's Sherpa Electric Heated Throw to the test as a solution to putting the heating on, and she wasn't disappointed.
Hailing it "better than an Oodie", she said: "If you're investing in one multi-use product to keep you warm in bed, on the sofa, or sat at your desk the throw is, for my money, the one."
It's a really simple product to use, with a power button, a button to set the auto shut-off time and a temperature setting button. Narin explains that: "There are nine levels of warmth and you can set the blanket to switch off automatically at anything between 20 minutes and three hours, although if you struggle with the controls it will automatically default to the 20 minutes."
She goes on to say: "It warms up quickly and snuggling under the sofa with it or wrapping it around my legs while sat at my desk I soon realised I wasn’t tempted to give the heating a quick boost."
Shoppers agree with Narin, commenting that the Lakeland Sherpa Electric Heated Throw is the "ultimate snugability", and that it is, "very warm and cosy. No need to turn on extra heating - heats the person not the room!"
There are some people that mention they would "have loved a choice of colour", but if the teal hue isn't for you, Amazon are selling this discounted Mia&Coco heated throw for £47.99 and it is available in eight different shades.
Wowcher also have a deal on heated throws, with this Large Electric Blanket Heated Throw better than half price - down to £31.99, as well as Boots reducing the price of the Dreamland Grey Warming Throw to £59.99.
