PS Plus Essential subscribers are getting a brand new trio of titles this month, with the open-world hit Mafia 2 leading the charge.
PS Plus Essential subscribers got access to Mafia: Definitive Edition (a remake of 2002's Mafia) back during the PS Plus February 2023 lineup. Now, nine months later, Mafia 2: Definitive Edition (a remaster of 2010's Mafia 2) is joining it as a part of the PS Plus Essential November 2023 lineup. Mafia 2 is set in post-World War 2 America and follows a new protagonist Vito Scaletta as he is caught in a power struggle between Empire City's many mafia families.
Notably, Mafia 2 also holds the record for the most times the F word is said in a single game(via Kotaku ) – with a whopping 397 instances – so maybe don't play this one around the kids.
In another strange co-incidence, when Mafia: Definitive Edition was released on PS Plus back in February, it came alongside the asymmetrical multiplayer game Evil Dead: The Game. Now, releasing alongside Mafia 2: Definitive Edition is the asymmetrical multiplayer title Dragon Ball: The Breakers.
Dragon Ball: The Breakers places you in the shoes of one of Dragon Ball's many heroes or villains. Rather than playing as more capable characters like Goku or Piccolo, you're stuck with some of the series best jobbers. You'll be playing as the likes of Oolong, Bulma, Yajirobe, and the beloved Farmer with a shotgun. Seven of you must survive against one of Dragon Ball's imposing villains, like Cell, Frieza, or The Ginyu Force. However, by finding a special item, you're also able to transform into the likes of Goku, Bardock, and Trunks to help you even the playing field against the villains.

The following games are included in the PS Plus Essential November 2023 lineup as confirmed by Sony on the PlayStation Blog.
- Mafia 2: Definitive Edition (PS4)
- Dragon Ball: The Breakers (PS4)
- Aliens: Fireteam Elite (PS4, PS5)
These titles will become available to download on Tuesday, November 7, and remain available to download until Tuesday, December 5. You'll also only have until November 7 to download the PS Plus Essential October 2023 games.
