GMB faces more calls to axe Richard Madeley after another insensitive question
Richard Madeley faces calls to be axed from Good Morning Britain over another "insensitive" question.
The Good Morning Britain host was joined by Kate Garraway for Wednesday's edition of the ITV breakfast show, where they were joined by a guest who had tragically lost over 20 family members in the Israel Gaza war. Ahmed Alnaouq – who is originally from Gaza and is currently living in the UK – opened up about the tragedy that his family have faced when his family home was bombed.
Tragically, Ahmed lost 21 family members including his father Nasri as well as three sisters, two brothers, one of his cousins, and 14 nieces and nephews in the air strike. During their conversation, Richard asked him: "How close were you to your brothers? Were they older or younger than you? And a big feature of your life?", as Ahmed appeared stunned over the line of questioning.
Ahmed lost 21 family members in an air strike (ITV)"Of course. We grew up together. We lived all of our life together. I lived in Gaza all of my life until I came to the UK, so we were very close," he said, clearly emotional over the tragic loss both his and his family have suffered. Angry viewers rushed to social media to complain over Richard's questioning.
"Ahmed explaining he lost 21 of his family members in Gaza and Richard asks 'how close were you to your brothers'. Which part of that question is acceptable?", one shared, whilst a second added on social media: "Can Richard Madeley just be removed from this show now."

A third person penned: "You worry when Richard Madeley starts asking questions. He asks the poor man who had lost 21 family members, where you close to them? Hmm," with a fourth writing: "Mind boggling stuff once again from Madeley."
Richard was criticised for his line of questioning (ITV)The show was hit by over 2000 Ofcom complaints for asking British-Palestinian MP Layla Moran if she had any intel on the recent Hamas terror attack against Israel. Viewers were completely taken aback as he asked whether she knew what was happening in Gaza before the actions took place. In a statement later the same day, he apologised while a spokesperson for the programme claimed his comments were to "understand the mood and atmosphere" of the situation in Gaza.
He asked, "With your family connections in Gaza, did you have any indication of what was going to happen ten days ago, two weeks ago? Was there there any word on the street?" leaving Ms Moran stunned.
Clearly surprised by the line of questioning, the MP for Oxford West & Abingdon responded: "Not this, not this," before adding: "Everyone, everyone has been surprised first of all by the timing and sophistication and they way that it's happened. What I will say is that I've been warning, and others have in Parliament as well for a number of years now, that if we don't find a way..."
