Liverpool sit just three points behind league leaders Tottenham after earning a 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The victory leaves Jurgen Klopp's men fourth in the table as they look to challenge for the title after a disappointing campaign last season. Goals from Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah earned the Reds all three points in a week where they also beat Toulouse 5-1 in the Europa League.

Liverpool will be back in action on Wednesday when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup. Here is all the latest news from Anfield...

Carragher's title claim

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Manchester City will "win the league comfortably" this season, with Klopp's side not "ready to mount a serious challenge".

"I've got the feeling with City, when I was coming up against Gary [Neville] and Roy [Keane], where even if Manchester United in years go by weren't top at this stage, it's almost if they are getting ready for the second half of the season," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"That today, a big game, put on a show to let people know how good they are, they are still the team to beat. I think they'll win the league comfortably this season, I do! I don't think Liverpool are quite ready to mount a serious challenge."

Fluminense midfielder Andre has been heavily linked with a January move to Liverpool after the Reds had a £25million bid rejected back in August and the 22-year-old has now opened up about the move.

"In this past window I didn't talk about it, the first time I'm going to talk in more depth will be now," Andre said in an interview withCONMEBOL Libertadores. "It really was an irrefutable proposal from the club that plays in a big league.

"I think every player one day dreams of playing for a big club in Europe, in a big league. But I decided to keep my word because when the January window closed, Diniz [Fluminense manager] arrived and told me that he wanted me here until the end of the year.

"We didn't know that a proposal of that amount would arrive and I told him that, regardless of what happened, I would be there until the end of the season. It ended up passing and arriving in the middle of the year, we were still in the round of 16 of the Copa Libertadores. It was a very difficult decision to make."

Touching Diaz gesture

The Colombian women's team showed their support for Liverpool star Luis Diaz ahead of a friendly against America after his parents were kidnapped by holding up a shirt with his name on during the national anthem.

The Colombia international's parents were kidnapped on Saturday and, while his mother Cilenis Marulanda has since been found safe, his father Luis Manuel Diaz is still missing. The touching gesture made by Colombia's women's team came after Diaz's Liverpool teammates did something similar before their win over Nottingham Forest.

Diogo Jota held up Diaz's shirt after scoring Liverpool's opener and said after the game: "It's a very hard situation and I don't know how anyone would react if it happened to you. He was going to play. I played instead of him and I showed him his shirt to show we're with him and we hope everything works out. It's unimaginable to think a situation like this could happen."
