Oleksandr Usyk explains advice he gave Tyson Fury during Francis Ngannou fight
Oleksandr Usyk was screaming for Tyson Fury to jab more during his controversial fight against Francis Ngannou.
Fury came close to suffering his first professional defeat over the weekend when he took on former UFC champion Ngannou in a crossover clash, but the Brit scraped a split decision win by just one point. 'The Gypsy King' looked slow and sluggish throughout the 10 rounds and was forced to pick himself up off the canvas when Ngannou put him down with a left hook.
The undisputed heavyweight world title fight between Fury and Usyk is still alive, but it likely won't take place on December 23 as planned. Fury was left with a black eye and grazed forehead after his win and Usyk has explained why he was shouting instructions for his rival from ringside.

“At the knockdown, I said, ‘Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah, Francis, be careful, please!’ I said, ‘Tyson, jab, jab, move, jab!’. It’s true, I was a little bit nervous that our fight was possibly in jeopardy. I even started to shout out to him some small things, like: ‘Use your jab, jab him faster.’ That’s it," Usyk told Boxing King Media.

“It might look weird when my future opponent is fighting and I’m here cheering him on and backing him, shouting some tips for him. It looks weird probably, but from the other point of view. Let's say myself, my team, my country, the whole world wants to see the fight happening, so that’s why it’s important we do everything possible to make it happen.”
Fury insisted he would be taking legal action against Usyk if he is unable to make their December 23 date, but the tables have now turned after the Brit hinted the fight will instead take place early next year. Usyk admitted he is struggling with some niggling injuries just weeks ago, but told Fury he will be ready to fight just days before Christmas.
Usyk was impressed by Ngannou listening to the advice of his corner and sticking to his gameplan after dropping Fury. "Many people did not give any chance to Ngannou, including myself but he performed very good and he showed the world that he can fight. I noticed Ngannou stuck to the plan and listened to his corner, he was putting the pre-planned action into action." he added.
