Matthew Perry had a very famous stepfather, with fans left stunned after discovering who he is following Matthew's tragic death.
The Friends star died on Saturday (October 28) after reportedly drowning in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home and tributes have been pouring in from devastated fans around the world. However, many have been surprised to learn that Matthew, 54, had a very well known relative when it comes to his stepdad.
Dateline star Keith Morrison married Matthew's mum Suzanne in 1981 over 10 years after her break-up with his dad, John in 1970 when he was just one years old. Meanwhile, Matthew's dad also remarried the same year to wife Debbie with both couples welcoming several more children over the years.

Keith told Andy: “I did think he’d be famous, but probably not as an actor.” Asked what was the best part of being his stepdad he said: “Where should I start? There are dozens of them,” before revealing Matthew once gifted him a Porsche 911 and stating he “is a very good guy.”

He added, “He's one of those people who always is the center of the room for a reason and it was so as a kid. He’s an intense, talented, focused character. He’s very bright. That was always the case as he was growing up.” Keith also addressed how the family had rallied around Matthew during his addiction woes telling People in 2020: “We were able to be with him a lot of the time through that, which was I think good for everybody.”
Meanwhile, Matthew's love for acting appeared to stem from his own father who starred in a string of TV shows including The West Wing, Days of Our Lives, Murder, She Wrote, Magnum P.I. and Falcon Crest. He also starred in 1976 movie Lipstick and was the "sailor" in commercials for Old Spice throughout the '70s and '80s.
The pair even starred in a few productions together, including John playing Matthew's on-screen father in 1997 RomCom Fools Rush In. He also played the father of Rachel Green's boyfriend Joshua in one episode of Friends.
