Matthew Perry 's former co-star Ione Skye shared messages that she received from the late actor just weeks before his death as part of her tribute to him over the weekend.
It comes following the news that Matthew - best known for his role on the NBC sitcom Friends - passed away, aged 54, recently. It's prompted numerous tributes, including from people who had worked with Matthew during his career.
This has included fellow actor Ione, 53. She had worked alongside Matthew on the film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon (1988). It starred the late actor River Phoenix as the titular character and marked Matthew's film debut.

Alongside a series of photos, she wrote in her post on Sunday: "My last exchange a week ago. I'm very very sad. Loved this guy."

Sharing their exchange, which appears to have been sent to her by Matthew on October 15, he made reference to Peter Gabriel 's song In Your Eyes. The song featured in the film Say Anything... (1989), which starred Ione and John Cusack.

Ione shared a series of messages in her post following the news of his death (instagram/@ioneskyelee)It read: "Hi! I hope all is well. I was meditating (I meditate now) and 'In Your Eyes' started playing. And I instantly thought of you and how beautiful you are." She replied: "Awe. I love that." Ione then shared subsequent messages.
The next one, sent from Matthew, read: "Hope you are healthy and happy." Ione said: "Yes, I am both. I think! Good to hear from you. I only have nice memories with you." The response read: "Me too. That one afternoon, I was just sitting in my apartment, and there you were!"

Ione's post has amassed more than 10,000 likes on the platform since it was uploaded on the weekend. She was met with condolences in the comments section from some of her followers, who reached out in response to the post.
