McDonald's left red-faced after customers notice very rude fail on cup design

McDonald's bosses have been left red-faced after realising that from certain angles their soft drink cups appear to show two children in X-rated positions.

The special designs for Japan's new McFizz drinks, which have been developed for youngsters, are supposed to show two children 'falling in love'. However, some eagle-eyed fast-food fans noticed that the couple appear to be doing inappropriate things when the translucent cup is viewed from different perspectives.

Twitter users shared snaps of the positions they had found the pair in, with Japanese blog site GaijinPot compiling some of the most shocking discoveries. Many people on social media saw the funny side of the cups, which have yet to be withdrawn by McDonald's. One person wrote: "Omg something so innocent became nasty."

Another added: "Still got a feeling it's not unintentional...cos it's Japan." However, others failed to the funny side and criticised those who picked up on the explicit positions. A Facebook user said: "Given the right dirty mind, anything can be made inappropriate with enough thought to it."

The McFizz soft drinks came in Blue Hawaii, Blood Orange and Lemon Ginger flavours and feature a variety of pictures showing a young couple's blossoming romance. McDonald's made headlines for another fail recently after fans complained that the fast food chain's new paper straws were not compatible with milkshakes.

One angry milkshake lover wrote: "With the paper straws they are fine for coke but the other day I had a milkshake and I struggled so so much that I ended up getting one of my own plastic straws at home." Another added: "I signed because the straws dissolve in your juice after 5 mins and its just disgusting." Others called for the return of the chain's plastic straws, however McDonald's stood by the change as part of its effort to cut down on plastic.
