It's spooky season and one mum has shared an epiphany about the meaning of different coloured pumpkin buckets. Orange is obviously the most well-known and original colour for Halloween, but it's not the only shade available.

In fact, alternate colours actually have specific meanings and are designed for children who experience the world in a different way to others. One TikTok user commented that she always buys the teal coloured bucket for her kids, and didn't know it had a specific purpose.

When speaking in her TikTok video, mum Krystal Dunn revealed that the teal pumpkin is for kid's with allergies. This indicates that when children go trick or treating, they can only receive allergy-friendly foods and sweets.

Then, a blue-coloured pumpkin is designed for children with autism, so members of the public know that they may be non-verbal, may not say trick or treat or thank you, and they may not even be wearing a costume.

A purple pumpkin is for children with epilepsy so they may be very sensitive to the flashing strobe lights. In a caption to the video, she wrote: "I had just learned this not long ago myself, but in fact each of the coloured Halloween pumpkins buckets have a different meaning!

"Teal is for allergy friendly treats. Blue is for children with Autism. Purple is for children with Epilepsy. I hope this helps any who are not aware."
