A ghost with 'evil eyes' is said to haunt a castle and is unable to rest at ease.
As Halloween approaches the 'uneasy' spirit is said to wear heavy riding boots and the apparition can be seen floating around the grounds of a less well-known castle in Edinburgh. Historic Environment Scotland says it is not a welcome sight among mere mortals seeking spirits. Claims the ghost, which has jangly spurs, say it is not very friendly towards those in the human world. It is also said to have evil eyes which become more prominent and “gleam menacingly on the approach of a mortal.”
EdinburghLive reports the uneasy spirit haunts the castle grounds wearing a long, dark blue hooded cloak with a ‘mass of tangled black hair which falls over the forehead.’ The spirit also has heavy riding boots with spurs on his feet. The spectre was seen to be gliding over the fields in the shadow of Craigmillar Castle in 1934. And the unearthly sight prompted vigilante ghost hunters to try help lay the spirit to rest.

A fresh ghost hunt was then launched and one of the men claimed to see “a shadowy being gliding round the ruins." The spirit, however, allegedly escaped by vanishing through an old doorway.
Historic Environment Scotland retold the tale for Halloween last year and there are claims the spurred ghost was last seen on a side street leading up to the castle. There have, however, been no more sightings since and the living identity of the ghost with spurs seems to be lost to history. Mary Queen of Scots is known to have used the castle as a safe haven in 1566 But its owner, Sir Simon Preston who was a loyal supporter of Mary, became person who imprisoned her just a year later.

The Mirror earlier this month reported about another spectre this month. A couple then said they were freaked out after claiming they captured a 'floating' figure walking in their home on a 'dog cam'. Victoria Hepworth was left spooked after dog-sitting her sister's black Labrador Kiwi. She spotted a 'weird' person lurking in the back of an image captured by the camera and the pet was seen fleeing from the room in Preston, Lancashire.
The 35-year-old and her fiancé Joe Shard set up a motion sensor security camera in their living room to check if the dog was behaving during the night and decided to watch it back last Thursday. The couple were 'unsettled' to find it had captured the animal appearing to run away from the figure just after 6am. She said it 'looked like something out of Paranormal Activity' and revealed is not the only worrying incident to have taken place at the property. The communications manager and her 29-year-old fiancé, moved into their 135-year-old home nearly a year ago - but now accept that they're living in a 'haunted house'.
