Strictly's Nigel Harman shares wife's reaction to him becoming sex symbol

Actor Nigel Harman has revealed how his wife is taking care of him during his stint on Strictly Come Dancing, as he becomes a sex symbol within the competition.

The former EastEnders star has wooed the audience with his dance moves, as well as judge Motsi Mabuse who likened him to Patrick Swayze. Nigel has been partnered with professional dancer Katya Jones, 34, and the pair have been setting the dancefloor on fire since the beginning of the BBC dance competition.

In their first week the pair went straight to the top of the leaderboard thanks to their incredible Paso Doble, with the judges branding it the "dance of the night". Fans have gushed over the former Dennis Rickman star, with many online branding him "sex on legs". However, Nigel has shared how he finds it odd to be branded a sex symbol.

He admitted it has been "kind of flattering" but also "kind of bizarre". Speaking to Closer, Nigel confessed: "It's lovely that people take the time to post comments online like that and it's much better than them forming groups to say how rubbish I am, but I try not to think about it too much because I don't know how to react to it."

This attention won't be a new thing for actor Nigel as he was known as the heartthrob of Albert Square when he played Dennis Rickman on BBC's EastEnders between 2003 and 2005. Nigel's Hollywood actress wife Lucy Liemann isn't phased by the fresh attention to her husband.

Instead, she has been showing her support to Nigel and his dance partner Katya. Lucy and daughter watch the duo perform every Wednesday after school and offer tablets to help him get through the gruelling training regime. "She's basically kitting me out with that I need to survive," Nigel told the publication. "Plus occasionally, if she's making a packed lunch for my daughter, she'll go, 'Would you like me to make you one?' So sometimes I have a packed lunch made for me." He shared that Lucy's care has been "really touching" and "beautiful".

The couple wed 12 years ago and Lucy is a successful actor just like her husband. She has starred in popular TV shows such as The Bill, The IT Crowd, Midsomer Murders, Agatha Raisin, Moving Wallpaper and Reggie Perrin. However, she is probably best known for her role as Lucy in the third part of the the Jason Bourne film series, The Bourne Ultimatum.

They welcomed their daughter a year after their 2011 wedding and have kept their family life away from the spotlight. Even though his daughter, who is believed to be around 11-years-old, is too young to watch from the studio she has been proudly cheering on from home.

Nigel's professional partner Katya explained that his daughter couldn't be prouder of her dad. She said: "I will tell you her little face – she was so proud! That's all that matters, isn't it, at the end of the day." It's not only Nigel's family that have been cheering him on the dancefloor, as a Harry Potter star was spotted showing their support.

David Bradley, who played cantankerous caretaker Argus Filch in the Harry Potter film series, sat in the audience to watch the show to support his friend Nigel on Saturday night. The 81-year-old actor – who also played Walder Frey in the HBO series Game of Thrones and Ray Johnson in the Netflix series After Life - looked thrilled to be in the crowd as he watched Nigel perform a Foxtrot.

Fans couldn't believe he was in the audience and took to social media to share their surprise at the unexpected friendship. For those who were left wondering how David and Nigel know each other, one clarified online, writing: "David Bradley and Nigel Harman in The Caretaker together at the Crucible in 2006 of course."
