UK rapper Fredo has been arrested and is being held in a Dubai jail after allegedly being caught with cannabis while on holiday in the United Arab Emirates.

The music star, 29, whose real name is Marvin Bailey, risks facing up to three years in prison and has allegedly already been to court. The Toxic Trait hitmaker and father-of-one is believed to have been held in the Dubai jail since September, when he was allegedly caught hiding drugs while in Dubai - which has a strict zero drugs policy. Possession of even the smallest amount of illegal drugs can lead to a minimum three-month and up to three-year prison term.

Fredo, who performed at Glastonbury earlier this year alongside superstar Stormzy, could now face up to three years in prison. Radha Stirling, CEO of advocacy organisation Detained In Dubai, told The Sun: "The most likely outcome for possession of cannabis would be one to two years in prison, it could be up to three years".

It has not yet been reported what specific charges the rapper faces, however, according to The Sun, the young music star could face deportation, a fine, and a lifetime ban from returning to the United Arab Emirates.

Back in June, Fredo faced another run in with the law. The rapper was nabbed at Heathrow airport just hours before his new track with Stormzy was released back in June.

A dramatic video taken from a British Airways plane showed four officers cuffing the star at 7am as he returned from a Barbados holiday. The music sensation was taken into custody but later let go without any charges. Earlier in April, the "Toxic Trait" rapper received a three-year driving ban for drug-driving.

He was found over the legal cannabis limit while driving a £55,000 Range Rover Velar in Edmonton, North London.

The Mirror has contacted Fredo's representatives for comment.
