Man shot twice with crossbow in the leg as three arrested

Police have arrested three people after a man was shot twice with a crossbow.

The shocking alleged attack took place this morning, Friday 27 October, in the Rosmoyle area of Craigavon. Around 5am, a man in his 20s was shot twice in the leg with a crossbow, police were told. Officers raced to the scene and the victim was rushed to hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Then, three men, aged 23, 32, and 34, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent - they remain in police custody at this time. Officers are now appealing to the public to help with their investigations - especially if anyone filmed the incident, or has dash-cam footage.

In a statement, Police Service Northern Ireland said: "Police have arrested three men following a report that a man was shot with a crossbow in the Rosmoyle area of Craigavon this morning, Friday 27th October."

Inspector Browne said: "We received a report at around 5am that a man in his 20s was shot twice in the leg with a crossbow. Officers attended alongside colleagues from NIAS who took the injured man to hospital for treatment to his injuries. Three men, aged 23, 32 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in police custody at this time.

"Our enquiries are at an early stage and we would ask anyone with mobile phone or dash-cam footage or any information which could assist with their enquiries, to call them on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 219 of 27/10/23."
