EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick has teased the upcoming BBC One soap Christmas whodunnit death storyline.
Earlier this year, the hit soap released a first look at the festive episode in a flashforward scene in a show first where Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Stacey (Lacey Turner) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) were faced with a dead body. It remains to be seen who the dead body is and who is responsible.
Yesterday evening Jay Brown star Jamie, 29, seemingly announced his exit from the BBC One soap on Wednesday in a now-deleted Instagram post. Since Jamie's social media stunt, some soap fans are now concerned he could be the dead body this Christmas in a twist.
Speaking earlier this month, before sending soap fans into a frenzy with his social media post, Jamie teased the upcoming Christmas death storyline. Speaking to the Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards, Jamie was quizzed on what he knows about the Christmas plot. He said: "Well, I know who it is."

And, when asked about his thoughts on the storyline, he teased: "I can't say because I'll give it away!"

Soap fans were sent into a frenzy on Wednesday night when Jamie, who has been at the forefront of some of the biggest storylines on the BBC soap recently with the tragic death of his on-screen wife Lola Pearce Brown, sparked concern he could be leaving.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday in a now-deleted post on his Story, where he shared a young photo of himself and paid tribute to his character, he penned: "RIP Jay, gonna miss you lad. We had a laugh didn't we." On Wednesday's episode, Jay was involved in a harrowing accident after taking drugs and trying to flee to Margate as his life hangs in the balance.
With Jamie seemingly confirming that Jay could die in the shocking scenes, some soap fans have taken to social media to share their theories, predicting he will survive the crash but die this Christmas.
Posting to social media, one fan wrote: "What if Jay isnt dead after the accident and instead theyve just filmed the christmas day scenes and hes the body #EastEnders", a different account put: "Imagine the Christmas body is Jay #EastEnders", while another soap watcher added: "EastEnders Christmas death what if it's Jay and the drugs catch up with him?"
