Emmerdale winter plots 'sealed' from Chloe revenge to Amit 'exposed'

Emmerdale is known for its explosive Christmas storylines, with past plots including the Woolpack pub exploding and long-lost Dingle family member Caleb Milligan showing up.

And after the ITV soap's explosive super soap stunt week earlier this month, there are plenty of storylines that could rumble on until winter with fans already sharing their festive theories. From Chloe Harris' revenge, Amit Sharma's deadly secret being exposed to a slew of sad exits, here we take a look at what Christmas could look like in the village this year...

Chloe Harris' deadly revenge

Emmerdale viewers are convinced they've figured out Chloe's revenge on Mackenzie Boyd this Christmas. Soap watchers will recall it was recently revealed Chloe does remember everything from the dramatic car crash, where Mackenzie left her to die after saving Charity Dingle from the wreckage. Chloe is pretending she doesn't remember the crash, leaving Mack relieved.

On Friday's episode, Chloe admitted she could remember more from the crash, claiming she remembers screaming out for Mackenzie to help her but then it's a blank. Mackenzie then lied, saying he couldn't reach her in time to which Chloe thanked him for trying to save her anyway, even calling him a "hero".

However, it was soon revealed that Chloe was playing a game as, later in the hospital when left alone with son Reuben, she menacingly said: "We might have to get used to this again, being just the two of us... what with daddy lying every time he opens his mouth because mummy remembers, doesn't she, that daddy chose Charity and just left me to die…"

Soap watchers are convinced Chloe will seek revenge on Mack, with many viewers thinking he could be killed off in an explosive Christmas twist. Taking to social media, one person said: "[We could get] Mack’s death at the end of the year and then the trial for his murder afterwards. #emmerdale", another fan put: "Bet mack and charity get married at Christmas and mack dies on the day #emmerdale", while a different soap watcher added: "I think Mac is gonna die suddenly!" [sic]

Elsewhere, some fans have predicted Chloe will leave the village with their baby son never to be seen again. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Chloe will disappear with Reuben", a different account put: "She will leave Mack taking Ruben with her #emmerdale" while another soap watcher added: "She’s gonna get better, reveal to the whole village, then leave with Rueben #Emmerdale!"

Amit Sharma 'exposed'

Amit Sharma made his debut earlier this month as the father of Jai and Suni Sharma headed to the village after a recent DNA bombshell. It comes after Suni found out Jai was his brother and not his cousin in a recent episode, after Suni's father had an affair with Jai's mother Georgia. Georgia fell pregnant, and Rishi Sharma helped her raise his brother's child, claiming Jai to be his own son.

Only recently, Amit's son Suni was left reeling once again after learning that Amit was there when his brother Rishi died, who had been found dead at the bottom of the stairs in a supposed "accidental fall". Amit has insisted he's not responsible for Rishi's death and that it was a tragic accident but Suni has been left wary over his dad.

Suni decided to open up to boyfriend, Nicky, about his father's deadly secret and on Thursday night Nicky let slip to Amit he knew about Rishi after things had been tense between the two at a family meal. Nicky said: "We've all done things we're not proud of", to which Amit insisted he had "no skeletons in his closet". Nicky then warned: "Is there a dead Rishi in there? Oh, I know... it was an accident! You were the last person to see him alive, weren't you? And then you have your big argument, and suddenly, he falls down the stairs and dies? Just a big coincidence, I guess!", to which Amit punched him to the floor.

Soap watchers are now predicting a sinister storyline for Amit and that he could kill Nicky in a bid to keep his secret safe as fans think he did murder Rishi after it was revealed he was present at his death. Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Amit could turn out to be the next big villain or serial killer as time goes on #Emmerdale", while a different account put: "I'm already loving Amit! But we better keep Nicky safe!"

Elsewhere, one soap watcher said: "They should really do a flashback episode to the day Rishi died so we can see exactly what happened… Not believing Amit at all #Emmerdale", while another fan added: "Now, after that scene, I'm wondering if that's how Amit caused Rishis death, by punching him causing Rishi to lose his balance/footing on the stairs? #Emmerdale."

Village exits

Emmerdale legend Samantha Giles has confirmed she is departing the ITV soap. Samantha – who plays Bernice Blackstock on the show – has announced she will leave her role, 25 years after her first appearance as the divisive character. Not much is known about her exit from the soap, but she did confirm when she'd be leaving, revealing her exit scenes will air in mid-November.

Elsewhere, Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed he's leaving the ITV soap as David Metcalfe after 17 years after it was reported he was set to leave. The actor is bowing out of the role after joining the show in 2006 and Matthew, 43, has teased his character's exit storyline. Matthew said there could be resolution between David and Victoria Sugden.

He said: "There is a resolution of sorts... I can't give too much away. Victoria is the reason why he leaves the village... put it that way! He leaves because of Victoria in a way, I can't give too much away!" With both Bernice and David set to leave, will their exits be part of an explosive winter storyline?
