Emmerdale fans are convinced they've rumbled a Christmas baby bombshell amid one character's upcoming exit from the hit ITV soap.
Only recently, Jacob Gallagher and Victoria Sugden have embarked in a shock romance after the latter was previously in a relationship with Jacob's father David Metcalfe. On Wednesday's episode, the new couple were nearly caught in the act by David, who is adamant he can win Victoria back.
As the love triangle becomes more tense, soap watchers think there could be a Christmas baby bombshell in store for Jacob and Victoria, which will be part of David's exit storyline. Fans will recall that Emmerdale favourite Matthew Wolfenden has confirmed he's leaving the ITV soap as David after 17 years after it was reported he was set to leave.
Taking to social media, one person said: "Victoria pregnant by Christmas #emmerdale", a different account put: "Odds on Victoria getting Pregnant with Jacob? #Emmerdale" and another put: "@emmerdale #emmerdale What are the odds Victoria & Jacob aren't taking precautions?", while a different fan added: "This is most likely going to lead to David's exit storyline."

Teasing his character's exit storyline, Matthew said there could be resolution between David and Victoria. He said: "There is a resolution of sorts... I can't give too much away. Victoria is the reason why he leaves the village... put it that way! He leaves because of Victoria in a way, I can't give too much away!"

While the actor fought back tears on Loose Women on Wednesday, as he addressed his looming exit from the ITV soap. An exit date has yet to be confirmed, but the storyline appears to involve David's ex Victoria and his son Jacob. Matthew has filmed his final scenes on the show, revealing he officially left two weeks ago. With filming said to be around six weeks in advance, this means he could bow out in December time, maybe around Christmas – while exact details remain under wraps.
Elsewhere, soap boss Laura Shaw has also revealed all on his exit plot. Speaking to Inside Soap magazine, Laura spilled on what was ahead and teased how David could leave the show. She said: "I think it would be difficult for me to pretend that this isn't going to send David on his way. However, once it comes out – and I'm sure Leyla won't be happy, either – will Jacob and Vic stay together, or will the pressure break them up?"
