MAFS UK to film 'extra bonus episode' after most explosive series ever

E4 bosses have reportedly decided to treat fans to an extra bonus episode of Married At First Sight UK after it became obvious that there was still so much drama left to unfold.

Before viewers had tuned into the first episode of the series back in September, the main show and the reunion show, was already sewn up. But it's perhaps clear to see why a bonus episode is needed as this series has been full of twists and turns. Viewers have seen Brad Skelly and Shona Manderson axed from the E4 dating show fairly early on in the process after the experts and their fellow castmates, noticed signs of controlling behaviour in their relationship.

Shortly after that, Porscha Pernnelle was left blindsided after her husband Terence Edwards broke the rules and decided to quit the show after believing that she had cheated on him during a game of spin the bottle. She had kissed a couple of the participants behind his back as part of the game. But the rules clearly state that if one person writes "stay" and the other person writes "leave", then the couple have to give their relationship a second chance for another week. But Terence decided to throw the rule book out of the window and quit the show.

Meanwhile, recent episodes have seen four stars axed from the show after Ella and JJ's romantic connection was exposed. Nathanial, who was married to Ella, decided to quit the series during a fiery dinner party. While Bianca, who was wedded to JJ, threw in the towel during the couples couch sessions earlier this week. But, Ella and JJ's return to the experiment was teased at the end of last night's episode – leaving fans fuming.

A show insider told The Sun: "This series of Married At First Sight started filming way back in February, and there was also a reunion filmed in July – so it was all in the can before any of this series had been aired. As the episodes have been screened, the cast have seen things unfold that they weren't aware of at the time of filming, so a lot of dynamics have changed since the reunion episode was shot in the summer."

This has been one of the most dramatic series to date with a number of twists and turns (E4)

They continued: "The relationship status of some of the couples has also been up and down in the last few months, so Channel 4 bosses wanted to get the key faces from the series back together to give fans the most up-to-date gossip. It's bound to be very explosive. A lot of the cast have been quite fiery and opinionated about each other on social media since the show has been on, so expect all of that to spill out on camera."

A spokesperson for the show declined to comment when contacted by the Mirror.
