Coleen Rooney has reportedly made a huge decision on her future with husband Wayne Rooney following the success of her new documentary.

The 37-year-old lifted the lid on her life with the footballer, who she has been in a relationship with since she was 16, in Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which is available to watch now on Disney+. Since being thrust into the spotlight as a teenager at the start of former England captain Wayne’s career, the couple have had four children, dealt with cheating allegations and the now infamous Wagatha Christie case when she claimed fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy was leaking stories about her to the press.

After dropping several bombshells in the documentary – including how she nearly left 38-year-old Wayne in 2017 when he was pictured in a car with another woman following a boozy night out – Coleen says her and Wayne are stronger than ever. And Wayne recently starting his new job as manager of Birmingham City football club is said to have got Coleen thinking about her own future now her boys – Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and five-year-old Cass – are a bit older.

Revealing she has her sights set on more TV work, a source told OK! magazine: “She’s followed Wayne round for his career and now it’s her time to do what she wants to do. The boys are a bit older now and they will need her a little less and she has great support from her family, especially her mum.

“Coleen’s seen the reaction she’s had in recent weeks and she’s thrilled. It’s made her realise this is her time. Filming the documentary reminded her [Coleen] how good she is in front of the camera and how much she likes being there. There are two things money can’t buy – natural talent and likeability and Coleen has both of them in bundles.”

The source claimed Coleen would love to do some documentary work around issues that affect people and is said to aspire to be like former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, who used her profile to make the award-winning documentary Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out about her battles with body image, online bullying and mental health while part of the girl band.

It seems a good career move for the mum-of-four, who has already impressed TV bosses with last year’s Rooney documentary for Netflix and ITV series Coleen’s Real Women which saw her scour the country for real women to replace picture-perfect models in ad campaigns. Back in 2006, Coleen also joined forces with veteran newsreader and TV star Sir Trevor McDonald for a programme about Rett syndrome, a rare brain disorder her younger sister Rosie died from at the age of just 14.
