MAFS' Tasha confronts 'affair' backlash after holding Arthur's hand
Married At First Sight star Tasha Jay has hit out at rumours she has been having an affair with co-star Arthur Poremba after the pair were photographed holding hands on a night out.
The current sixth season of the hit E4 reality show has been providing plenty of shocks and scandals as 12 couples embark on marriages while never meeting before their wedding day. Fans saw 25-year-old Tasha tie-the-knot with Paul Liba, 26 - while 35-year-old Arthur was paired with 34-year-old Laura Vaughan - at the beginning of the series while subsequent episodes have charted their marital success.
The rumour mill has been in overdrive this week, however, after Arthur threw a birthday celebration at the London nightclub Libertine in Fitzrovia - inviting a number of MAFS co-stars, including Tasha, to the knees up. Tasha herself shared some snaps on social media from the night out - with fans left stunned when one of the photos showed her holding hands with Arthur while they walked down Oxford Street.
Many have subsequently bombarded Tasha with questions about the seemingly tender moment that was caught on camera. One MAFS fan commented: "Holding hands with Arthur?? Another husband/ wife swap" while another asked: "U with Arthur? Cos hold hand mmm let’s see what happens the end of series."

But now she has hit out at the speculation that has been swirling on social media (Instagram)Taking to Instagram Stories on Monday, the TV star hit out at the speculation and worked to set the record straight. Sharing the snap on her feed to draw attention to the subject, Tasha wrote: “So there has been a lot of comments on this picture & I just want to clarify I only posted this picture because it was the only one I had of Arthur as it was his birthday celebration after all.”

She continued: “@LauraJayVaughan is one of my closest friend & I would never disrespect her. Arthur is also a really good friend of mine which is what you are seeing in this picture there is nothing more to it!”
Rounding off her message, Tasha claimed Laura had not been at the birthday celebrations herself, as she added: “We all missed you so much the other night my angel.” And Laura may want to look away from other reports from the raucous night out - as it has been suggested Arthur was snogging a mystery woman in the nightclub.
A source told the MailOnline: “Arthur spent the entire night with a beautiful looking brunette and they couldn't keep their hands off each other. They were kissing all over the club and definitely didn't care who saw them even though Married At First Sight viewers still think that he's in a relationship with Laura.
“Everyone had high hopes for Arthur and Laura but eventually their romance failed and since filming for the show ended, they have gone their separate ways. Arthur is having the best time that he can now, and it was his birthday, so a little bit of attention didn't go unwelcome."
It is unclear if Arthur and Laura have split - and Married At First Sight is still to air several episodes before the current season ends. A Channel 4 Spokesperson said: "Whilst we wouldn't comment on the outcome of our couples' relationships, we are well aware of how much our audience dislike spoilers – we do too. We hope audiences will continue to follow the journeys of our couples Monday – Thursdays at 9pm on E4 or you can stream on Channel 4. There are plenty more twists and turns to come."
