Britney Spears has posted a cryptic social media post to her recently revived Instagram account.

The 41-year-old shared a snap of a heart shaped cake, decorated with white icing, cherries and candles and placed neatly in the centre of baby-pink ruched silk. In the middle of cake, there is light pink writing which reads: "See you in hell."

The cryptic post, which was shared with the comments turned off comes ahead of the release of her tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me, which fans will be able to get their hands on by 24th October. However, Britney's Instagram page seemingly vanished before her cold-hearted upload and after the singer urged that she '"didn't mean to offend anyone" with her new book

The 41-year-old star frequently shares dancing videos while donning skimpy dresses, lingerie, and bikinis, but her posts went missing days before being revived again. She had previously issued a statement to her fans apologising for any hurt the contents of her upcoming memoir has caused.

The statement read: "My book's purpose was not to offend anyone by any means. I don't like the headlines I am reading... that's exactly why I quit the business four years ago!

"Most of the book is from 20 years ago... I have moved on and it's a beautiful clean slate from here!!!" She went on: "I am here to establish it that way for the rest of my entire life! Either way, that is the last of it and sh*t happens! This is actually a book I didn't know needed to be written ... although some might be offended, it has given me closure on all things for a better future!!"

Britney then touched on how she wants her book to "enlighten people" who feel alone, hurt or misunderstood. She urged that her motive was "not to harp on my past experiences" before declaring that she has "moved on" since then.

Britney's memoir is due to be released on Tuesday, October 24, with some snippets and excerpts from the singer's book already unveiled. One of the most shocking revelations so far is that the singer had an abortion after falling pregnant with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake's baby when they were in a relationship.
