Amanda Abbington has reportedly quit Strictly Come Dancing after suffering 'setbacks'.
The Sherlock star has reportedly exited the BBC competition after missing last week's show. Just a day before they were due to dance, it was confirmed Amanda and Giovanni would not perform that weekend. The Daily Star has reported that she has now quit the show, as a source claimed she is "fed up". As they did not dance last weekend, the pair received a bye to this week, but reports suggest she has quit the show and is out of the competition for good.
The Mirror have contacted the BBC for comment amid the news Amanda has quit the show. She was one of the first names to be announced earlier this year, alongside Angela Rippon and Layton Williams. So far, four people have left the programme in a string of eliminations including Les Dennis, Nikita Kanda, Jody Cundy and most recently, Eddie Kadi.

Speaking on the Strictly: It Takes Two, the BBC show's sister series, host Janette Manrara told viewers: "We have some breaking news, unfortunately due to medical reasons, Amanda will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week. Amanda we hope you get well soon my love, sending you all the best wishes!"
A representative for Strictly Come Dancing went on to tell the Mirror in a further statement: "Due to medical reasons Amanda Abbington will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend. Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, Amanda and Giovanni will return the following week."

The image shared with Amanda's followers was original uploaded to the social media platform by an account called @positiveminds011. The image showed a picture of the late actor Robin Williams and the words: "People don't fake depression... they fake being okay. Remember that. Be kind."
Later that evening, Strictly Come Dancing hosts Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly addressed Amanda's absence from the dancefloor as they opened the live show. Following the celebrities and their professional dance partners making their grand entrances, Claudia told the audience and viewers watching at home: "Now as you may have noticed Amanda and Giovanni are missing from the line-up. Due to medical reasons, Amanda is unable to perform this week."
Tess added: "As per the rules of the competition, she's been given a bye and all being well will return to the ballroom next weekend. Amanda, we are all sending you so much love."
