Harry's shocked friend accuses royal of 'frittering away reputation for cash'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have "frittered away their reputations" in order to earn money, a former pal has warned. Reports have suggested that the couple have been moving in the same circles as the Kardashians, with Meghan Markle's mum Doria even being pictured with Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner at an event in Los Angeles recently.

Meghan was also seen at a Beyonce concert, which Kim and other Kardashians attended and this has led to rumours the Sussexes could appear in one of the Kardashian's reality TV shows - even if for just a one-off cameo appearance. And one of Harry's old school friends, who still knows Prince William, said they are "gobsmacked" by the prospect.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, they said: "I mean, it used to be a joke, 'Oh, they are going to be the new Kardashians'. The idea that it could actually happen is insane. I'm gobsmacked. They have frittered away their reputations in pursuit of money, and this is the result. I actually think they ultimately probably will do it, or something very like it. They have done everything else, and they are going to need the money."

It comes as former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond says any appearance on the show would be a step too far for the royal couple. Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "They seem to have cut all ties with the Royal Family - except for Princess Eugenie - so it seems inevitable that they will now embrace lives as La La land celebs. Personally, I think it would be ludicrous and rather demeaning to appear in the Kardashians. I think they are better than that.

"I cannot imagine why Harry would want to invite the glare of reality TV into his life. Surely his only purpose in courting the publicity he so despises is to shine a light on the causes he cares about? Why invite more?"

Yesterday, Harry appeared to put on a "cool, sexy and very happy" display as he enjoyed a solo visit to the US Grand Prix in Texas yesterday, according to a body language expert. The Duke of Sussex smiled and waved to fans before meeting the Mercedes team ahead of the US Grand Prix.

While Harry looked like he was really enjoying the trip, Meghan seemed to have given it a miss. The couple were recently snapped returning to America after enjoying a romantic getaway to the Caribbean. Body language expert Judi James said Harry seemed reminiscent of "the old version" as he spent time on the race track.

"Harry oozes good humour here, with his head up and a smug-looking smile of pleasure on his face as he raises one hand to hail the fans." She suggested Harry looked as though he was having fun and likened him to how he seemed before all of the drama with the Royal Family.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she said: "It's as though the cool, sexy and very happy version of Harry is back in the room again here on a solo trip after his romantic break with his wife. His moustache is manicured, his hair is teased up to look fuller, he is sporting a pair of designer shades and his body language looks both relaxed but also excited by the event and the people he is meeting.
