Man's 'cruel' two-word response at gender reveal leaves wife in pieces
Having a child with the person you love is such a blessing, and many parents-to-be will be just feeling on top of the world at the prospect of their little one being healthy and happy.
Other parents may have a preference, but they won't make it explicitly known out of fear of offending their partner. Others may outwardly express that they want their baby to be either a boy or a girl - but this can cause tensions. A mum-to-be took to Reddit to explain that her husband is "so angry" that they're not having a son, despite the fact that she "doesn't care" about the gender - but it was his concerning reaction that got commenters talking.
She wrote: "We have three little girls under the age of six. I'm pregnant with baby number four and we just had our gender reveal party with family today. He has really been wanting a son ever since our first child was born. I personally don't care about the gender of our baby so if I ever had a son I know I'd be so happy. He on the other hand ruined our gender reveal party and he says he isn't sorry."
She said that they "counted down, cut the cake and the icing was pink." And then his cruel two-word response came. He yelled "f**k no" and then "threw the plastic knife across the yard and kicked the whole table over" in a terrifying display.
She continued: "Our other daughters looked at their dad and said 'You don't like girls?' He stomped off and told me it was my fault we were having another girl. I have no control over what we have but my kids and I will always remember how he acted over this gender reveal. I get people can be disappointed with gender but throwing things and kicking things is too much."

In the comments, people were horrified by the man's reaction, with one asking: "Please be honest - with yourself at least if not with us - is this the only unreasonable, embarrassing, cruel, and frightening outburst your husband has ever had?" Another suggested that he "Talk to someone" as "Kids are great, no matter the gender. Maybe you don't get a boy, but you'll have four awesome girls, and that's a gift in and of itself." One raged: "Who needs a little boy when your husband is such a child?"
Someone else said: "He shouted f**k no and kicked over a table during a party? Scary to think about what he does in private." A Redditor wrote: "Gender disappointment is normal. Most people get over it and realise that gender is such a small part of raising a child. But this kind of reaction is extreme and scary. Growing up with a dad like this is not fun even if this is an isolated incident, which is hard to believe."
