Big Brother's Kerry makes awkward Holly Willoughby This Morning remark

Big Brother fans were left open-mouthed after contestant Kerry Riches mentioned Holly Willoughby and This Morning during the show's live feed.

The 40 year old NHS manager, who recently told her housemates that she would consider quitting her job once the show comes to an end, joked that Holly and Alison Hammond would be "discussing" her on the daytime TV show. She told housemate Dylan Tennant that she expected to be spoken about as she brings the comedy value for Big Brother. However, Kerry is unaware that Holly quit This Morning on October 11 – three days after this year's contestants entered the house.

According to the rules, housemates are not allowed to have any contact with the outside world, which means they have to remain in the dark about how they are coming across to the public and current affairs. Within moments, fans picked up on what Kerry was saying and took to social media to voice their opinion. One person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Kerry just said 'Alison and Holly will be talking about this on This Morning and someone will say, 'Oh Kerry is very funny'. Who's going to tell her?"

Another added: "Kerry: 'Alison Hammond and Holly will be talking about us on This Morning'. Awks." And a third penned: "Oh just wait until Kerry finds out that Holly has left!" Meanwhile another person added: "Oh um, about that! They don’t know!" 

Kerry has already started talking about her future plans once she leaves Big Brother – and that does not seem to include her "normal" job. She recently told housemates Dylan, Tom, Jenkin and Zak: "I don't know what I am going to do. I don't know what I'll f******* do. I love that you all know what you're going to do after this." Both Dylan and Tom said that they plan to resume their roles in the outside world and shy away from TV work.

But Kerry, who is no stranger to TV as she once appeared on Deal or No Deal, replied saying: "Well I definitely can’t. But after 21 years I’m happy to hang up my NHS coat." Kerry works as the Head of Patient Experience in Essex and is reportedly earning between, £58,972 and £81,138 a year. 

During a discussion about tax bands, Kerry was shocked when she found out about some of the housemate's struggles. Her fellow housemate Jenkin said he got just £250 a month in benefit payments while he was looking for work. And so Kerry said: "That’s really shocked me what you just said. I really need to stop moaning paying a higher tax bracket, I don’t think it’s fair. I’m really proud of myself because it’s really hard in the NHS, but I begrudge paying the higher tax bracket massively."

And this made Zak jump in and join the discussion saying: "The average person in the UK makes £20,000 per year. If you’ve got £100k, you’re in the richest in the UK." Kerry, who narrowly missed being evicted from the Big Brother house last week after she was up for eviction against Farida, had appeared on Deal or No Deal sixteen years ago and won £35,000.
