Tyson Fury believes it will take him fewer than six rounds to swell the eyes of Francis Ngannou and render his UFC counterpart unable to continue on Saturday night.

The world heavyweight boxing champion will take on MMA's top heavyweight in an an unprecedented crossover fight between two men at the peaks of their respective sports. But there is believed to be a vast chasm between Fury's skill and Ngannou in the ring, with the latter never having competed in the ring as an amateur or professional.

Ngannou is considered one of the hardest punchers in the world, but has yet to test that with 10oz boxing gloves, or even outside of the UFC's octagon. He last competed in January of last year, before injury and contract disputes forced him out for the rest of his UFC deal.

"I’m going to knock him out inside six rounds," Fury told host Carl Frampton during his TNT Sport Face Off with the MMA star. "And shall I tell you how I’m going to do it? Get on the front foot, high arm, sticking him with a punishing jab, 19-20 stone in the face, boom, boom, boom, bust him up, swell his eyes out, and then feint, slip, bang! KO

"On the front foot, not running away. On the front foot, hand-eye, let him hit the shoulder, slip, slip, bang, slip, slip, bang. Down in a heap. Listen, no one can take my power. Nobody. These heavyweights don’t have a chance... I’m like Neo on The Matrix. You better believe it.

"I’m going to come out, nice, stiff, snappy jab, bang, doubling up, bang, bang, bang, slip, slip, slip, body shot, upper cut, jab, jab, feint, bang – right hand, game over."

Ngannou looked on in bemusement as Fury got into the groove of his rant, before noting his rival's own comments that echoed his coach Mike Tyson : "Wow. That sounds like the script for a movie. As you said earlier, everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face."

Fury and Ngannou's fight is expected to earn both men purses in excess of £10million, with the Brit set to make over £100million between this and his upcoming undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk. The MMA star has taken issue with news that Fury vs Usyk will take place within Riyadh Season, telling the world heavyweight champion that he will hand him a medical suspension.

"I don't know what's the minimum medical suspension in boxing but I really don't understand how Tyson can fight in December after what's going to happen on 10/28," he wrote in a tweet after Fury vs Usyk was announced. It is believed that Saudi officials are keen to have the fight on December 23, but a January or February date before Riyadh Season closes in April is more likely.
