Adele has announced that she's extending her Las Vegas residency

Adele has announced that she's extending her Las Vegas residency, having now scheduled additional performances next year which are being billed as "the final shows".

The singer-songwriter, 35, launched her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in the city last year. It was due to conclude next month on November 4, but it's now been revealed that she'll perform at the venue next year.

She's set to perform at the theatre in the US from January 19 to June 15 next year. It's been announced that an additional 32 dates have been scheduled overall for the residency in Nevada, as revealed by Ticketmaster this week.

Information provided by Ticketmaster over the new dates reads: "[Adele] is asking fans to register for the ticket sale to: help block bots and scalpers, get more tickets to real people who want to attend the show [and] reduce resale."

It further states: "Registration does not, however, guarantee that everyone who registers will get to access the sale or purchase tickets. Some fans will be randomly selected to get access and others will be placed on a waitlist."

The new dates have been announced as including January 19-20 and 26-27, as well as February 2-3, 9-10, 16-17 and 23-24. There's also due to be shows at the venue on March 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30. Additionally, there's set to be shows on May 17-18, 24-25 and 31. The residency is set to conclude in June, with shows on 1, 7-8 and then 14-15.

Fans have shared their excitement over the news on social media, following the announcement by Adele. One person reacted: "I'm freaking out. OMG. Best news today." Another said: "Need to go." A third wrote: "I can't believe it."

Shortly before her announcement about the new dates on Instagram, Adele shared a lengthy post on the platform in which she opened up about the residency. She discussed the impact it's had on her and teased more shows.

She wrote: "This residency, these shows have changed my life. I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!"

The Grammy Award winner continued in the post: "Being on stage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I'll never forget."

Adele added: "All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life. The looks on your faces, seeing you laugh and cry together singing your hearts out and hoarding bags of confetti. All the simi dolls, friendship bracelets, flowers, facetime calls and flags.

"It's crazy how joyful a show full of sad songs can be!! I've felt so much and learned so much about myself and you. It's humanized everything I thought was scary. Mostly though - it's just made me realize how much I really enjoy being on stage, that I'm bloody good at it and that it is 100% where I belong!"

And seemingly teasing the new shows ahead of the announcement earlier, she concluded her previous post by writing: "So let's go one last time before I turn into a showgirl forever! Love you and I'll see you on the otherside soon."
