'Bitter' Meghan could 'take aim at Kate' in tell-all memoir, says expert

Meghan Markle could dish on her fractured relationship with the Princess of Wales if she decides to release her own memoir, a royal expert has claimed.

Rumours have been swirling that the Duchess of Sussex may follow in the footsteps of her husband Prince Harry and write a tell-all book that lays bare her experience as part of the Royal Family and what has happened since she sensationally quit. In his own book Spare, Harry takes aim at several of his family members - most notably his brother Prince William, who he claims physically attacked during an altercation at Kensington Palace.

And according to royal expert and author Phil Dampier, if Meghan were to follow a similar path to her husband, it's likely that William's wife Kate would become a target. He told The Sun: "Everyone will be fascinated to hear Meghan’s take on her relationship with Kate, whether she was hostile or welcomed her from the start.

"She probably thought she should have got equal billing and didn’t seem to appreciate from the start that she and Harry were the B team, not on the same level as William and Kate. She will probably talk about comparisons that were made in the press between them and will come across as bitter."

Meanwhile, the expert added that if this is the case, it's unlikely Harry and Meghan would be able to have any sort of relationship with William and Kate in the future. He explained: "It really would be the last straw and I doubt William and Kate would ever talk to Harry again. I doubt she will directly criticise the late Queen as she knows how unpopular that will be. But she could reveal private conversations and that would be very troubling for the King, the Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales."

Meanwhile, another expert has claimed that Harry's rumoured return to the UK to house-hunt makes no sense for the "safety-obsessed" Sussexes. Reports have suggested that Harry is keen to have a base in the UK now he and wife Meghan Markle no longer have use of Frogmore Cottage on the Windsor estate after being forced to hand back the keys.

It has been rumoured that Harry could opt for a private property he would purchase himself, rather than rely on a place from his estranged father King Charles. Since moving to California more than three years ago, Harry has only made fleeting visits back to the UK - and is also embroiled in a legal battle with the Home Office over his security when he is back in his homeland.

And royal expert and historian Tessa Dunlop, told the Mirror: "His 2023 UK pitstops have included a very expensive legal battle with the British press, a blink-and-you-miss-him Coronation moment and a charity event pre-Invictus Games in Germany. These are not the actions of a man who is about to start house-hunting in the UK.

"I'm sure Harry would like a bolthole in London (it's his home city after all) but it makes no sense for the safety-obsessed Sussexes to invest in a private property when they can bunk up with cousins on the Windsor estate or stay in one of London's working palaces where the security brief is on-tap."Rather it is we the British public who are missing Harry."
