ITV Emmerdale viewers slam soap for 'forgetting' about major character
Emmerdale viewers have slammed the soap for appearing to forget a key character.
Angry fans took to Reddit to fume over a lack of tributes to the late character Harriet Finch, who died in the storm that rocked the Dales just over a year ago. She was part of the huge storm storyline that also saw the death of Liv Dingle and matriarch Faith Dingle.
However, viewers are not happy that whilst Liv and Faith have been remembered, no one has seemed to take any time as part of the scenes to remember the vicar turned police officer, who died in the woods during last year's episode. One fan wrote: "It's been a year since the Storm in Emmerdale, however, the writers have seemed to forgot 1 person to mark her death.
Fans have been left angry after the soap 'forgot' to pay tribute to Harriet (ITV)"We already seen Vinny and Gabby remembering Liv, and then the Dingles marking Faith, but what about Harriet. It seems the residents have clearly forgotten the former Vicar and police officer, not even Charles, her former flame Will or Dawn or even PC Swirling paid tribute to the much missed actress. Shame on you Emmerdale."
In response, another fan added: "Can't agree more. I thought the actress was great and sorry they wrote Harriet out. The writers seem to think viewers easily forget these things," as a second shared: "This is what soaps do regularly tbh. People die and it's a massive story then a couple of weeks later it's like... Who got killed!???"

Liv and Faith were remembered in sad scenes last year (ITV)A third penned: "Harriet was part of the show for nearly ten years, she’s been a major player for most of those years, it was only in the last couple of years where she was basically reduced to being a side character, but to forget about her is a shame." At the time of her character exiting the show, actress Katherine Dow Blyton said she was very similar to her character.
"I will very much miss playing Harriet, although I won't miss wearing the police uniform! What I loved about coming into Emmerdale and what really made me want to play Harriet was because she was coming in as the vicar. I loved playing the vicar and the fact that she was flawed and she was a bit off-the-wall. She had a sense of humour, and I loved the character. I'll very much miss her, but she's with me obviously. We're not too dissimilar," she shared.
