Two substitute teachers who are also a couple have been caught on a prostitution website by an undercover police officer.

Ezra Fry, 22, and David Acevedo, 25, were caught in August when an undercover officer reached out to the pair on “an illicit prostitution website”. Posing as a person called John looking to set up a sexual encounter, Fry and Acevedo agreed to meet the man at their home.

According to a police report seen by WTVC, Fry explained to 'John' that he would be charged £150 for the experience. Fry, who alongside Acevedo worked in Hamilton County schools, also shared what they would and wouldn't do.

The police report states that Fry allegedly explained the couple normally go to a client's house, but suggested it was safer to do it at their home this time round because it was 'John's' first time. Once at the property, the undercover officer identified himself arrested the couple.

The couple allegedly told the officer they have been in the business for several years and do it as a way to make extra money. Both said "they have to do this or they will starve", according to the report.

The report said: "Both parties advised officers that they are Special Education teachers at Woodmore Elementary and Calvin Donaldson Elementary. During an encounter with an officer, Fry stated, ‘I don’t care, everyone has seen my [private parts]'."

Acevedo was suspended without pay on August 29, pending an investigation. Fry, who is employed by Education Management and Staffing Solutions (ESS) a company that sends staff to school districts, has not worked in a Hamilton County school since August, a spokesperson told WTVC.

Fry has previously been criticised on social media after angry parents slammed the 22-year-old for wearing a black dress while teaching, The Tennessee Conservative reports. The caption a post shared online reads: "This is a male substitute teacher at East Ridge Elementary, today. Pray for this individual that they find the help they need, but making the kids call you "Mrs." and letting this individual in a school to lead children is not acceptable, Hamilton County."

In response, Fry told the Chatanooga Times: “I’m a non-binary person, and I keep my gender out of my job. Obviously this whole thing has blown up because people think I am.”
