Emmerdale viewers 'rumble' Craig's downfall in huge 'revenge' twist

Emmedale viewers think they have figured out Craig Reed's downfall in an explosive "revenge" twist after he raped Lydia Dingle.

Soap watchers will recall that last week Lydia bravely told husband Sam Dingle and her family that she was raped by Craig with the Dingles rallying around her in support. After confronting Craig at his office, supported by Sam and Mandy, Lydia reported him to the police and then told stepson Samson, who had been working for Craig, the truth.

On Tuesday's episode, Samson was being distant with Cathy Hope at the Café as she grilled him on his behaviour to which he told the teenager that Craig had raped Lydia, which was overheard by Nicola King who went on to tell Bernice Blackstock - with the information soon spread around the village, leaving Lydia devastated, especially as Craig has been let go by the police due to a lack of evidence.

On Wednesday's episode, Sam struggled with everything going on as he broke down to Will Taylor, who called Cain Dingle, with the latter coming to support his distraught brother. Cain said: "Look, we can sort this. There's the law and there's the Dingle law...." to which Sam insisted Lydia wanted nothing like that. Cain chillingly added: "If it's what you want, I can sort it... you just have to give me the word."

Soap watchers now think Cain will kidnap Craig in a bid to get him to confess to the rape with Caleb or Will even getting involved. Taking to social media, one person said: "#emmerdale Cain will kidnap Craig and lock him in his boot", a different account put: "Yesssss Cain & Will to kidnap Craig #Emmerdale", another viewer said: "I hope Cain and Will sort rapist Craig out… #emmerdale" while a different fan added: "#Emmerdale I think Caleb will sort Craig out!"

It comes as some fans think Craig's receptionist, who was seen with tears in her eyes as she watched him be led away by the police last week, could be the one to bring him down. Taking to social media, one fan put: "That receptionist woman knows something. She's had too many scenes and lines to only be an extra."

Elsewhere, a different account put: "She will be Craig’s downfall. He’ll talk his way out of raping Lydia but then she will report him also", another fan said: "Craig's receptionist knows something. #Emmerdale" while a different person added: "I think the receptionist will come up with some evidence or a witness statement in support of Lydia, at some point #emmerdale."
