Emmedale fans were left outraged over Samson Dingle's "mistake" on Tuesday, which left his stepmother Lydia Dingle devastated.
Soap watchers will recall that last week Lydia bravely told husband Sam and her family that she was raped by Craig Reed with the Dingles rallying around her in support. After confronting Craig at his office, supported by Sam and Mandy, Lydia reported him to the police and then told stepson Samson, who had been working for Craig, the truth.
On Tuesday's episode, Samson was being distant with Cathy Hope at the Café as she grilled him on his behaviour to which he told the teenager that Craig had raped Lydia, which was overheard by Nicola King who went on to tell Bernice Blackstock.
Later, Kim Tate supported Lydia at work, who was upset about Craig being let go by the police due to a lack of evidence. Will Taylor entered the room before being quickly turned away as a worried Lydia asked if he knew the truth. Kim reassured a relived Lydia that Will didn't know.
