There's nothing more exciting after a long day than ordering a takeaway - whether you opt for a nation's favourite fish and chips or you prefer a pizza or even a Chinese takeaway, there is always an endless array of options for when you're just not in the mood to cook.
However, one woman was fuming after her partner had ordered everyone a takeaway except her, as she's coeliac and he told her the takeaway didn't cater to her intolerance. Adamant he didn't do anything wrong, she was upset that he left her out and without any dinner as well.
Taking to Mumsnet to share her ordeal, she asked others for their opinions. She wrote: "I'm coeliac and have an intolerance to anything with onion and garlic so I'm limited to what I can eat and where from. I'm extra careful about what I eat.
"Anyway, today we had a day with our niece and nephew aged 14 and nine. We all had a meal deal lunch at 12:30, spent a few hours entertaining them then they all had a 1/4 each of a chocolate cake I bought in the freefrom bit in Sainsburys. I didn't eat my cake at that point.
"It gets to 4.45 and I suggest getting the kids, we planned originally to go to a pub but when I checked out the menu it wasn't suitable for me. There is a fish and chippy nearby that does gluten-free but they chose another one. They go at 5pm to get food, they come back and my other half unpacks the food including a large doner and chips for himself. Nothing for me, just a 'they don’t do GF there'."
'I don't want children staying up late at weekends - I really need adult time'
Upset that he had come back without anything for her, she felt as if her partner had been "inconsiderate" and left her out due to her intolerance. The post further detailed: "I was seriously p****d and went very quiet, once we dropped them off he asked what's up and I said I thought it was seriously inconsiderate that he couldn't wait another hour to have his tea with me and thought it was ok to leave me sitting there starving hungry while he scoffed a takeaway. Knowing that one thing I really miss is being able to eat a doner kebab."
Other mums were quick to reassure her that she wasn't being unreasonable, as one mum wrote: "So he was in charge of getting food for everyone and just didn't bother getting anything you could eat? That's very mean. I think you would be unreasonable to say he couldn't have a kebab in front of you ever, but in a situation where he's left you with nothing that's awful of him," while another added: "He should have went to the place that you can eat from on his way back from the place they ordered from to collect something that you could eat."
