This is the dramatic moment Israelis bulldozed down a Palestinian pizza restaurant after it used a photograph of kidnapped grandmother in a mocking advert.

The order to destroy the building was given by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) central command, it is understood. The bulldozer is seen pulling the eatery apart while reversing in the video filmed in the West Bank town of Huwara.

The advertisement appeared to mock an elderly woman kidnapped by terrorists a week ago during Hamas's attack on Israel, showing an image of her next to a photo of a pizza.

The owner of the restaurant was allegedly arrested previously for hurling a rock at an Israeli settler, but the charges were later dropped. In its apology, the Eiffel Bakery and Supermarket said it was not aware of the source of the photograph.

The post read: "We are very sorry for the picture that was uploaded. Of course, the image did not occur to us. Someone tried to hurt us. We are against harming people and women and just want to make a living with dignity and live in peace with everyone. We are very sorry to the members of the affected family and the other people who were affected."

More than 150 people were taken captive when Hamas launched its unprecented attack on October 7, Israel said. Sickening footage showed women being marched into vehicles, bloodied and bruised, often with their hands bound behind their backs. Images showed Israeli pensioners taken into the Gaza Strip on golf carts and families forced into trucks.

The Islamist group's armed wing said nine people captured in the attack a week ago have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza in the past 24 hours. The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades said at least five Israelis and four foreigners had been killed in Israeli "strikes on locations where the prisoners were held", without elaborating.

The military wing warned this week that "every targeting of our people without warning will be met with the execution of one of the civilian hostages".
