Logan Paul's face has swollen up after he was attacked by Dillon Danis during their face-off.

Paul and Danis were preparing to go toe-to-toe for the first time ahead of their boxing fight in Manchester on Saturday night when the former threw a bottle at his opponent. Danis retaliated by punching Paul while holding a microphone, cutting the YouTube star on his face.

The fight was immediately plunged into doubt as Paul left the venue with his hood up - but he later insisted he will be fit to fight. "Dillon can't escape me. The fight is very much happening, the stakes just got higher," he wrote on social media. And Paul posted a photo of himself on social media showing a scar from the cut which has forced his face to swell up.

Paul has not fought since he took boxing legend Floyd Mayweather the distance in their exhibition bout more than two years ago. He has since focused on his burgeoning WWE career but will return to the ring this weekend as the co-main event to KSI's clash with Tommy Fury.

Both fights have been the subject of intense build-ups, forcing promoters to install a cage on the press conference stage yesterday. But while KSI and Fury performed their face-off with a barrier in the middle, Paul and Danis failed to make it to the box.

Footage released last night clearly showed Paul tossing a bottle of his Prime hydration drink at Danis who reacted by punching his rival. Security intervened to prevent the fracas from escalating but many fans feared the damage was done until Paul provided his welcome update.

The YouTuber is the odds-on favourite to prevail given Danis is making his boxing debut. The American has previously forged a career in MMA with the Bellator promotion and is a teammate of Conor McGregor who is expected to be in attendance this weekend.
