Big Brother's Farida slammed again over 'insensitive' comment to housemate Kerry
Big Brother star Farida has been slammed again over her "insensitive" comment to housemate Kerry.
The makeup artist faced criticism from viewers earlier this week over her questioning to transgender contestant Hallie. She has since faced backlash for "reinforcing stereotypes" in her chat about Kerry. Farida branded her housemate "lazy" for not participating in kitchen chores when opening up in the Diary Room. Kerry has multiple sclerosis (MS) which affects mobility.
Viewers were less than impressed with Farida's comment, as they took to social media to share their opinions. One said: "Kerry is lazy? She’s got multiple sclerosis Farida hun." Another added: "Farida calling Kerry lazy is reinforcing so many stereotypes about disabled people. Please remember you only see a small section of the show and that people contribute in different ways." Someone else wrote: "Farida has not just called someone with multiple sclerosis, lazy."
Viewers were not impressed Farida called Kerry 'lazy' (ITV)According to the NHS, MS is a condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation or balance. It is not the first time Farida and Kerry have clashed, as tension appears to be building between the two. During Thursday night’s highlights show on ITV2, Farida opened up about her career as a makeup expert, turning to Kelly to proudly tell her about her achievements as an online makeup advisor and how she helps other women perfect makeup.
But Kerry, far from being impressed, was blunt with her fellow housemate and undermined her achievements. When Farida mentioned that as many as 300,000 or 400,000 people watched one of her tutorials online, Kerry responded in disbelief, saying: "That watch you?"

Looking a little taken aback, Farida then said: "Yeah! My video all go viral. I’ve got like 300, 400,000 views just on one video" - to which Kerry then replied very a lacklustre “wow”. Farida continued, saying: "And when I livestream, if I live-streamed every day, trust me, I have had 400 followers in just 15 or 20 minutes while I’ve live-streamed." Kerry dismissed the information and claimed "It’s a different world" - while Farida concurred and said: "It is."
While on Tuesday, Farida left viewers divided, with some branding her chat with Hallie an "awkward grilling". It comes after emotional scenes where Hallie gathered her fellow housemates to tell them she is transgender. The 18-year-old youth worker said: "I just thought I’d make that loud and clear. I’m a trans woman if you didn’t know." The other contestants showed their support to Hallie, as Farida and Trish then told the teen they've "got her".
The 50-year-old was curious to know whether men who fancies Hallie or "got with" her were considered to be gay. Hallie responded: "I won't have sex until I have my full transition. There's men out there who specifically like trans women, and there's men out there that will just see me as a woman, and just be with me as a woman." Hallie's mum Samantha since appeared on the spin off show Big Brother Late & Live where she said her daughter "handled it so well".
