Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool will take stock over the international break after a challenging couple of weeks in the Premier League.

The Reds have made a strong start to the 2023/24 campaign but fell to their first league defeat in controversial circumstances against Tottenham a fortnight ago due to a major VAR error. Liverpool followed that up with an entertaining 2-2 draw against Brighton last Sunday prior to the break.

A whole host of Klopp's men will represent their country over the next week-and-a-half, with the German likely to be keeping a keen eye on developments. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest news from Anfield...

Henderson's Saudi humiliation

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was one of a number of high-profile stars who left to join the Saudi Pro League in the summer - but a new report has claimed a host of those players are 'hating every minute' of their new experience.

And while there is no suggestion that Henderson is one of the players specified, it makes for pretty humiliating reading for the Saudi Pro League and their influx of big-name new players.

Liverpool have confirmed that there will be further delays in the Anfield Road end development, with Anfield's capacity set to remain at 51,000 for the foreseeable future.

The Reds had hoped that the new upper tier, which will increase the stadium capacity to 61,000, would be open and ready at the start of the current campaign. However, the project was then pushed back after contractors Buckingham Group went into administration.

There had been some hope that the new revamped tier would be open for business next week when the Reds face Everton in the Merseyside derby. But that target will also not be met, with some fans who have tickets for next weekend and beyond now facing disappointment until 2024.

Anfield favourite Jamie Carragher has urged former Liverpool transfer target Kalvin Phillips to impose himself in training after finding himself out in the cold at Manchester City.

The England midfielder was linked with the Reds in the summer transfer window after failing to make an impact during his maiden season at the Etihad.

And Carragher believes that Phillips needs to start "treating training like a game every day" if he is to win over Pep Guardiola and salvage his Manchester City career, citing his own experiences at Liverpool as an example.
